Handsets on the University VoIP network
Changes to the display and access level of an extension can be arranged through your Institution's Telephone Liaison Officer (TLO).
The University Telephone Network provides a high-end IP phone system
to Colleges, Departments, Faculties and other Institutions within the University.
The Cisco handsets supported by the system provide considerably more functionality
than the previous analogue handsets.
All Cisco handsets are capable of the following:
- displaying the incoming caller ID
- being configured into groups with other phones
- supporting some aspect of 'manager/assistant' working
The standard phone is the Cisco 7911G, but the Cisco 7941G and Cisco 7961G provide additional functions, have a larger display and more buttons making them easier to manage multiple incoming calls.
All Cisco handsets support Voicemail and Speed-dialling. These facilities can be managed using WebPhone, whether you are at your desk or away from Cambridge.
All changes to the display, association and calling access level should be made by your local Telephone Liaison Officer (TLO).
